Applications:

Aluminum SER cable is a service entrance cable used in residential and light commercial buildings for panel feeders, subpanels, and branch circuits. It is rated for 600V and suitable for wet and dry locations with an operating temperature of up to 90°C.

• 150A main service panel feeds in single-family homes, per NEC 310.15(B)(7).

Construction

Conductors:

The "2/0-2/0-2/0-2/0-1" designation means this SER cable has four 2/0 AWG phase conductors (hot wires) and one 1 AWG bare stranded aluminum ground conductor. The conductors are made of compact stranded soft-drawn 8000 series aluminum, cabled together with a reinforced binder tape.

Insulation:

Type XHHW-2 cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation for heat, moisture, and chemical resistance.

Jacket:

The cable jacket used in its design is Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). The jacket protects the inner components of the cable from potentially damaging external forces. PVC is robust and resistant to oil, sunlight, water, flames, acids, chemicals, radiation, impact, abrasion, and weather changes. Sequential footage markings that help the user identify the appropriate length during installation are noted on the cable jacket.
