14-2/2 NM-B Cable with Ground, Solid Copper, White Jacket, 600V Rated
Allowable Ampacity for 14-2/2 W/GRND NM-B: 15 Amps
Also Known As:
14-2/2 NM-B Wire, 14-2/2 NM-B Cable, 14-2/2 Non-Metallic Sheathed Cable, 14-2/2 Non-Metallic Sheathed Wire, 14-2/2 W Grnd NM-B, Southwire 14-2/2 NM-B, 14-2/2 Southwire, Southwire 55048201, Southwire 14-2/2 Wire, Wire Romex, Southwire Wire, Romex Building Wire, 14-2/2 Romex Wire
Applications:
14-2/2 NM-B copper building wire is used in residential branch circuits for lighting and outlets, especially in multi-circuit applications where two separate circuits need to share a single cable. It is ideal for setups requiring two hots and two neutrals, such as in duplex outlets, where each receptacle is powered by a separate breaker.
This wire is designed for dry indoor use only and rated for 600 volts and up to 90°C. It may be installed in air voids within tile walls in accordance with NEC Article 334. Like other NM-B cables, 14 2 2 Romex is engineered for easy pulling.
Common uses of 14-2/2 NM-B rated for 15 amps include:
-
Wiring duplex receptacles with independent breakers
-
Running two separate circuits through a shared path
-
Reducing clutter by combining circuits in one cable run
-
Residential lighting and general-purpose outlets
-
Wiring in attics, walls, or ceilings of wood-framed structures
Unlike standard 14/2, which has one hot and one neutral, 14-2/2 NM-B has two hots and two neutrals plus a ground, allowing you to run two 15-amp residential circuits in a single cable.
