GenSpeed Category 6 Cable

Applications:

GenSpeed Category 6 Cable is designed for high-performance voice, data, and Ethernet network applications. It is suitable for data centers, telecommunications systems, commercial buildings, offices, educational facilities, and other structured cabling installations. The cable supports Gigabit Ethernet as well as Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications.

Construction:

GenSpeed Category 6 Cable uses a four-pair twisted construction with an engineered divider/separator designed to maintain pair spacing and provide consistent electrical performance. Different variants are available for plenum and riser installations, including shielded F/UTP constructions.

Conductors:

The cable is constructed with solid bare annealed copper conductors. Many GenSpeed Category 6 products in this range use 23 AWG conductors for dependable conductivity and high-speed data transmission.

Insulation:

Individual conductors are insulated and arranged into four color-coded twisted pairs. Insulation materials vary by construction, with polyolefin used in non-plenum versions and FEP/polyolefin used in plenum-rated versions.

Jacket:

GenSpeed Category 6 Cable is available with flame-retardant jacket constructions. CMR riser and CMP plenum-rated versions are available to meet different building and installation requirements.

Shield:

Depending on the selected variant, shielded F/UTP constructions are available to provide additional protection against electromagnetic interference and help maintain reliable network performance.
