Allowable Ampacity for 12-2C Solid Copper AC Lite Interlocked Galvanized THHN Insulation 277/480V Aluminum Armored Cable 100 Amps

Armored cable, also known as Type AC or BX electrical cable, is a flexible conduit alternative to pipe and wire installations, built to UL 4 standards. It features a 16 AWG bare aluminum bond wire and the armor as the ground path.

AC Cable is NEC-compliant for various applications, with specific limits on four phase conductors between 14 AWG and 1 AWG. Unlike other cables, AC Cable uses a paper wrap instead of polypropylene or direct extrusion over conductors.

Applications:

Branch circuits and feeder wiring for commercial, industrial, and multi-residential applications, designed for power, lighting, control, and signal circuits. Suitable for exposed or concealed installations, surface mounting, embedding in plaster over brick or masonry (excluding wet or damp locations), fishing, or running in air voids of masonry block or tile walls. Also applicable under raised floors, above suspended ceilings, and in other environmental air-handling spaces. Features galvanized aluminum armor for durability.
