3M Scotchcast Closures 8980 Series use a gravity fill method of encapsulating and protecting copper cables in either an underground or direct buried environment. Six rigid body closure sizes are offered to meet various cable diameters and splicing capacities for the outside plant environment. Kits are packed with either 3M High Gel Re-enterable Encapsulant 8882 for easy re-entry or 3M Scotchcast Splice Encapsulating Compound 4407 for permanent protection.
