The K-1500-EHFA Emergency Phone is designed for reliable hands-free emergency communication, connecting directly to a central office (CO) line or an analog PBX/KSU station when paired with a hot-line dialer or a programmed ring-down circuit such as Viking’s DLE-200B When the emergency button is pressed, the phone automatically goes off-hook, allowing users to converse hands-free until its intelligent call progress detection system hangs up the call.

The phone's components are mounted on a robust aluminum panel, finished in high-visibility red powder paint, ensuring it is easily identifiable in emergency situations.
