Product Information

Specification

4/0-3 CONTINUOUSLY WELDED ARMOR CABLE TYPE MV-105 MC-HL NON-SHIELDED EPR INSULATION 2.4KV

Applications:

The metal clad cable is an electrical wire that is often used in severe and hazardous environments where the maximum conductor and electrostatic interference protection are needed. It can continuously operate in temperatures of up to 90°C in both wet and dry conditions. However, in case of emergency overload or short circuits, this mc wire can operate in temperatures up to 130°C and 250°C respectively. This electrical wire has a voltage rating of 2,400V, which makes it suitable for lightweight power applications.

Also Known As:

4/0-3 instrumentation cable, 4/0 3 armoured instrument cable, 4/0 3 metal clad cable, 4/0 3 aluminum armored cable, 4/0 3 mc cable, 4/0 3 mc wire, 4/0 3 mc cable wiring, 4/0 3 mc electrical wire.

Standards:

  • Single conductors are qualified per AEIC CS8
  • Meets requirements of CSA-C22.2 No. 0.3, -40°C cold impact test
  • UL listed Type CWCMC to IEEE 45/IEEE 1580 (46 CFR
  • Part 111.60-23) Marine Shipboard Cable
  • ICEA (70,000 BTU/hr) and (210,000 BTU/hr) Flame Test
  • IEEE 1202 Flame Test

Construction

Conductors:

Instrumentation cable conductors are made from soft bare annealed copper in accordance with ASTM B-3 and ASTM B-8. Copper is used for this application because of its amazing electrical properties and flexibility.

Insulation:

Insulation is very important in any electrical cable since it prevents the electrocution of cable handlers. This metal cable insulation is made of ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR), which is in line with ICEA S-96-659. This material is strong and resistant to harsh environmental conditions.

Armor:

The armor protects the cable from external damages in addition to the shield and is made using impervious continuously welded and corrugated aluminum.

Jacket:

This metal clad cable jacket is made of PVC. This material is resistant to flames, sunlight, chemicals, abrasion, corrosion, moisture, industrial solvents, oils, acids, alkalis, and radiation.
