Specification

Also Known As :

Pad-per-hole prototyping board, copper anti-tarnish coating, glass-epoxy circuit board

About :

◐ Prototyping or Perfboard: In electronics and electrical engineering, "PadBoard" can refer to a type of prototyping board also known as perfboard or protoboard. These boards consist of a grid of holes with metal pads or copper traces on one side. Engineers and hobbyists use PadBoards to create and test electronic circuits without the need for a custom-designed printed circuit board (PCB). Components are soldered onto the metal pads, and wire connections are made on the board's surface to create the desired circuit.

Common Applications: :

◐ In contrast, surface mount technology (SMT) PCBs may not have pads for each hole, as components are typically soldered directly to the surface of the board without passing through holes. Instead, SMT components are soldered to pads or traces on the surface of the PCB. THT and SMT, as well as the design of pads and holes, depends on the specific requirements of the electronic circuit being manufactured and the components being used.

Standards:
The square shape helps ensure that parts are aligned precisely, both in terms of rotational orientation and lateral positioning.

Construction :
Electrical Conductivity: Plated holes enable electrical connections between different layers of a multilayer PCB.
Component Mounting: Plated holes are used to mount electronic components on the PCB. Through-hole components, such as resistors, capacitors, and connectors.
Via Creation: Plated holes are also used to create vias in a PCB. Vias are holes that connect different layers of the PCB, allowing traces.
Increased Strength: Plating enhances the structural integrity of the holes, making them more durable and resistant to mechanical stress and thermal cycling.

Specification :

• Etched FR4 glass-epoxy circuit board.
• Double sided, 1oz/ft2 copper with an
anti-tarnish coating for easy soldering.
Lead free and RoHS compatible.
• Holes are drilled on 0.1" (2.54mm) centers.
• 0.037" (0.94mm) holes sized for ICs or
square post headers.
• 31 x 39 holes. Four 0.125” mounting holes.
• Size 2 = 100 x 80mm (3.94 x 3.15in),
1/16" thick (1.6mm)
• Part Number is PAD2

Features :

◐ Pad-per-hole prototyping board with plated-thru holes. A square pad every 5th hole makes it easy to align components on top and bottom.
◐ Double-sided high-quality FR4 glass-epoxy circuit board with plated holes. Components can be soldered to either side.
◐ 1oz/ft2 copper with an anti-tarnish coating for easy soldering. Lead free and RoHS compatible.
◐ 31 x 39 holes, 0.037" holes are drilled on 0.1" (2.54mm) centers. Four 0.125” mounting holes.
◐ Size2 = 100 x 80mm (3.94 x 3.15in), 1/16" thick (1.6mm)PadBoard has a general purpose
pad-per-hole pattern which is good for
general purpose analog and digital use.
◐ Double sided board with plated-thru holes
allows components to be easily soldered to
either side of the board.
