Description
The projected beam smoke detector consists of an emitter and a receiver, positioned so that smoke from a fire is likely to rise into the beam’s path. The receiver continuously monitors the beam's intensity transmitted by the emitter. If smoke reduces the signal strength beyond the programmed obscuration threshold, the detector triggers an alarm. This device can also be integrated with conventional spot-type smoke detectors to create a more comprehensive fire detection system.
