16FT 1/2"-W Butt-Fusion Chemical Grade Halar Pipe 5501005

Description:

Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene (E-CTFE) is commonly known by its trade name HALAR. E-CTFE is essential a 1:1 alternating copolymer of ethylene and CTFE. It contains about 80% CTFE, one of the most chemically resistant building blocks that can be used to make a polymer. It is most likely the best material for handling high concentrations of sodium hypochlorite. Additionally, E-CTFE has good electrical properties and a broad-use temperature range from cryogenic to 300º F (150º C).

Features:

• Maintains usefulness during exposure to cobalt 60 radiation at dosages of 200 megarads.
• Meets fire requirements of UL94 V-O flame test.
• Able to withstand continuous operating temperatures ranging from -105°F to 300°F with peak temperatures of 340°F.
• Superior chemical resistance and electrical properties.
• Not subject to chemically induced stress cracking from strong acids and bases, solvents, or chlorine; can withstand high concentrations of sodium hypochlorite at high temperatures.
• Affected only by hot amines and molten alkali metals.
• Extremely low permeability.
• Joining method is by butt fusion or IR (Infrared) techniques.
• High-purity grade fitting is also available.
• Diaphragm valves and T-diaphragm valves are available.
