16 Fiber 8 Strand 23D Series Gel Free Outdoor Single Armor/Double Jacket Loose Tube Fiber Optic Cable
Allowable Ampacity for 16 Fiber 8 Strand 23D Series Gel Free Outdoor Single Armor/Double Jacket Loose Tube Fiber Optic Cable: 100 Amps
Also Known as:
Fiber Optic Cable, 23D-Series, Armor Cable, Loose Tube Cable, Double Jacket Fiber Cable, Outdoor Cable, Armored Fiber Optic Cable
Applications of an Armored Fiber Optic Cable:
The armored fiber optic cable is used outdoors in duct, direct burial applications, or aerial lashed applications. The cable is designed to withstand environmental conditions such as rain, UV radiation, and temperature fluctuations.
Because of the high fiber count, the cable is ideal for high data demands and backbone installations in data centers. The fact that the cable is gel-free makes it easy to terminate the cable. The cable has excellent water resistance.
Applications of the armored fiber optic cable include:
- Telecommunication networks
- Broadband networks
- FTTx Deployments, including fiber to the home (FTTH), fiber to the building (FTTB), and fiber to the node (FTTN)
- Connecting data centers: High-speed connections between data centers.
- Campus networks
- Underground installations
- Aerial installations
