Common Applications:
- Underground Feeding
- Outdoor Lighting
- Outdoor Outlets
- Direct Burial
- Wet or Damp Locations
- Pump Systems
- HVAC Systems
- Underground Branch Circuits
- Indoor Applications Exposed to Moisture
Particular applications for size 10/2 UF-B:
- 120V Circuits: Used for standard 120V circuits that don't require more than one hot conductor. Common applications include:
- Outdoor lighting
- Single-pole circuits for outdoor outlets
- Specific pumps or motors that operate at 120V
- 240V Circuits Without Neutral: For appliances or devices that need only two conductors (a hot and a neutral) to operate at 240V. Examples might include:
- Certain types of baseboard heaters
- Water heaters that don't require a neutral
10/2 UF-B Standards:
- Ul Standard 493 for Thermoplastic-Insulated Underground Feeder and Branch Circuit Cables
- For use in interior wiring in wet, dry or corrosive locations under recognized wiring methods of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Acceptable to be installed as a Non-Metallic Sheathed Cable following NEC Article 339-3 (4)
- Acceptable for use per NEC Articles 300-4(b) and 339
- ASTM - B3 and B-8
