About:
Direct-operated pressure-regulating valves are used for pressure reduction in steam, air, and other gas systems. Their balanced seat and disc design allows them to operate effectively even at low inlet pressures, down to 5 PSIG. Unlike pilot-operated valves, the 455 Series does not use small pilot orifices, making it less prone to problems caused by dirt and pipe scale. The 455 Series is installed with an external sensing line connected several feet downstream of the valve. By locating the sensing point away from discharge turbulence, the valve achieves more accurate downstream pressure control.
