About:

Direct-operated pressure-regulating valves are designed for pressure reduction in steam, air, and various gas applications. Featuring a balanced seat and disc design, these valves can operate effectively even at low inlet pressures, down to 5 PSIG. Unlike pilot-operated valves, the 455 series eliminates small pilot orifices, making it less prone to clogging from dirt or pipe scale. Installation involves the use of an external sensing line, positioned several feet downstream of the valve. By locating the sensing point beyond the valve discharge turbulence, the valve achieves more accurate downstream pressure control.
