About:

IB Series inverted bucket steam traps are commonly used in drip applications to remove condensate from steam mains and supply lines. The discharge orifice is located at the top of the trap body, making these traps more resistant to failure from dirt and debris compared to other types. Due to their limited air-handling capability, they are suitable for process applications—such as unit heaters and laundry equipment—where rapid air discharge during system start-up is not essential. For systems that require efficient air venting, Float and Thermostatic (F&T) traps are the preferred choice.
