The direct-operated pressure regulating valves are designed for pressure reduction applications involving steam, air, and other gases. Featuring a balanced seat and disc design, these valves perform reliably even in low inlet pressure conditions, with capabilities down to 5 PSIG. Unlike pilot-operated models, the 455-Series lacks small pilot orifices, making it less prone to malfunction due to dirt or pipe scale. For improved accuracy, the valve is installed with an external sensing line positioned several feet downstream, away from discharge turbulence, allowing for more precise downstream pressure control.
