The USRACK chassis is designed to accommodate up to 14 single-width fiber optic modules, featuring an internal power supply that is 4 RU high. It is built for installation in an EIA-standard 19-inch (48.26 cm) rack. Optional RACK1B single-width blank modules can be used to fill any unoccupied module slots. The USRACK includes a unique automatic electronic current limiting feature at each individual module, rather than at the power supply. This design ensures that in the event of a module fault, only the affected module is shut down, while the remaining modules continue to function without interruption. The automatic current limiting feature is self-resetting, enabling the system to manage temporary or intermittent faults and overloads. Additionally, the chassis supports hot-swappable modules, allowing for module removal or replacement without powering down the rack.
