About :
Electrical Metallic Tubing:
Typically made of galvanized steel or aluminum, providing good resistance to physical impact and corrosion. The 1-1/2" size refers to the internal diameter. The actual outer diameter is slightly larger. EMT has a relatively thin wall, making it lighter and easier to work with compared to RIGID conduit. EMT is often used where bending and flexibility are required. It can be bent using a conduit bender and is typically joined with set-screw or compression-type connectors and couplings. Meets the requirements set by the National Electrical Code (NEC) for EMT conduits.
RIGID Conduit:
Usually made of heavy-duty galvanized steel or sometimes aluminum. It's more robust and offers higher protection than EMT. The 1-1/2" measurement is the internal diameter. The external diameter is larger and more substantial compared to EMT. RIGID conduits have a thicker wall, providing more protection but making them heavier and more challenging to install.
