Description

The SCT Hardline SCT-440MC is a premium-grade cable stripping and coring tool designed for efficient and precise preparation of cable ends. Its light blue color coding allows for easy tool identification, ensuring that users select the right tool for the appropriate cable size. SCT stripping and coring tools are two tools in one. SCT cable strippers remove the aluminum sheath without scoring, while the cable coring function cores the dielectric and bevels the outer conductor on hardline cables.

Features

Four Functions in One Operation: With the JCS attached, SCT tools speed connectorization because they strip the cable jacket, strip back and bevel the outer conductor, and core the dielectric, all in one smooth operation.

Perfectly Aligned Cutting Edges: The patented one-piece blade is manufactured from high-alloy tool steel that is heat treated to full hardness, so the beveled edges remain sharp over a long life.

Precision Performance: SCT tools core the dielectric and strip the aluminum sheath without scoring. The blade leaves a beveled outer conductor edge that eliminates O-ring damage, minimizing water migration.

Manual or Drill Operation: SCT tools can be ordered with a standard ergonomic handle or a Cable Prep brand RTH ratchet T-handle. Either handle can be removed for operation with a 3/8-inch variable speed drill.

Lightweight, Yet Durable Body Design: Diagonal, I-beam struts give the SCT maximum strength using a minimum of material, resulting in easy, powerful operation.

Plastic or Aluminum Housing: SCT tools come with either a rugged, lightweight plastic or aluminum body. Their color-coded guide sleeves match them to their companion Cable Prep brand JCS tool.

Self-aligning Guide Sleeve: The SCT and guide sleeve include a tab and notch in their design that facilitate quick insertion and positive alignment of the set screw with the set screw socket in the guide sleeve.

Threaded for Jacket Stripper integration: Threads molded into the tool body allow easy JCS tool attachment, enhancing tool functionality and simplifying storage of both SCT and matching JCS components.

Protected, Recessed JCS Threads: The contours of the tool body extend beyond the threads, so they are not prone to damage if the tool is dropped or jostled in storage.

Applications

SCT stripping/coring tools work on 0.412″ through 1.000″ hard-line cables, including PIII, T10, TX10, CommScope Power Feeder, Times Fiber 50-ohm, PB10, MC2, and comparable HFC cables.
