Gas Tube & Ignition Cable is a type of Thermostat Wire cables which is primarily designed to distribute up to 15 kilovolts. It is jacketed and insulated with a tough polyvinyl chloride compound which is non-biodegradable. This improves its protective attributes from the harsh environmental conditions.

• Conductor

The cable measures 14 AWG (American Wire Gauge) and 10 feet long. It is made of stranded and annealed copper conductor which is left bare in accordance to ASTM B3 and UL standard 814. Stranding of conductors improves their flexibility. Flexible Gas Tube cables are easy to handle because they require less effort to fold and coil into smaller portions for shipment. Annealing the conductors adds to the flexibility aspect of this cable, as it makes them more soft and malleable; this process involves heating the conductors and allowing them to cool. It doesn’t interfere with electrical properties of the conductors.

• Insulation and Jacketing

The Polyvinyl Chloride insulation and jacketing protects the cable from chemical and mechanical damages. PVC is moisture resistance, abrasive resistance and do not succumb to deformations easily.

Applications

Gas Tube and Ignition Cable is used for high voltage terminals connection and signs wirings through sign transformers. The cable is also desirable for Oil burner ignition wiring.
