Specification
Alpha Wire Multi conductor 300/1000V PVC Insulation Ribbon Cable
There are numerous versions of this cable with voltage rating ranging from 300 to 1000 Volts depending on the size of your application. They are also available depending on the number of conductors which include 10, 15 and 20 conductors. It is quite a long cable with its minimum length at 100 ft. The alpha wire can operate in a wide range of temperatures with its Mil option ranging from -200C to 1050C in both cold and hot environments respectively. The AWM option has a slightly lower operating temperature range, which is -200C and 800C in both wet and dry environments respectively.
Construction:
The conductors are made of stranded tinned copper. It is relatively cheap and durable hence you don’t have dig deep in to your pockets or constant repair and maintenance costs. This material can last you a lifetime if put to good use. Covering the conductors is PVC insulation. It is boned in to a flat configuration. The insulation reduces the risk of electrical related incidents. It also provides protection from mechanical and external damage. The insulation is color coded for easy identification of the cable. The color coding is different depending on the type of conductor. The colors used mainly are Brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, slate, white and black.
