Things To Do On Halloween With Nassau National Cable

Our entire team at Nassau National Cable is passionately waiting for Halloween, a holiday that takes the cake for being the most extra, thanks to elaborate costumes, games, and lighting. We sure love to dive into some holiday preparations, so here are seven tips for you on fun, games, costumes, and lighting. And remember, Halloween is a real treat, so eat, drink and be scary!

1. Don't Let Your Guests Without A Costume and Plan Some Costume Fun.

We are convinced that Halloween without a costume is just a regular party without that extra flavor of spookiness, so put effort into making sure that everyone has one. Make a theme and plan some activities around the costumes. Have a vote for the best costume and give the winner a favorable price, like a bowl of snacks or a bottle of the crowd's favorite drink. There's always a chance some guests would forget about the costumes, so stock some cheap fun new costumes and hand them to guests upon arrival.

2. Plan a Drinking Game To Get Everyone Into A Festive Mood

Holiday drinks are a staple of every party, regardless of whether the alcohol is involved or not. Since everyone will be drinking something, it is great to organize a fun activity around it. One way to do so is to decorate your drink bottles as potions with the notes attached to them that indicate a task to complete once finishing the said drink. For example, the people who've just had mimosas should stare uncontrollably at each other for five minutes straight, while those who washed down a bottle of Corona should sing a spooky song in front of everyone.

3. Plan Party Games That Everyone Enjoys, But Don't Overdo

Have everything ready for playing several popular games in advance. You can go with party staples, such as Cards Against Humanity, Charades, Alias, Never Have I Ever, or others. Choose a game that most of the guests enjoy and pick the games that are different from each other.

You can dive deep into Halloween games and do movie trivia or horror-film-inspired games, such as the ones inspired by the latest Netflix hit "Squid Game." However, this requires a lot of creative effort, so do this only if it's your passion and your friends appreciate geeking around just like you do.

Don't plan a game marathon and settle on 2-3 games per night, as people might choose to drink, dance, and talk instead. You can plan one extra game for the closest ones who will stay the night in your house or do a horror movie screening.

4. Choose High-Quality LED Lighting For Interior and Exterior Decorations

High-quality LED should be your lighting of choice for decorations because of its high quality and the fact that it lasts a lifetime. Choose your mix of colors and consider popular options, such as green, purple, red, orange, and blue. In addition to standard colorful LED lighting, you may go for colored flood lights that provide broad, colorful lighting throughout the entire yard or where you choose to point them.

Black LED lights are the latest trend that adds a lot of value to your party. The lamps primarily emit ultraviolet light, making the costumes of your guest glow in the dark, which makes for incredible photos.

For an extra effort, you can replace regular LED lights on your porch or in your garage with colored ones. Within the house, you can use string lights for some accent coziness.

5. Don't Use Real Candles

Using real candles is a fire hazard, especially during a party that involves a lot of people, alcohol, and possibly children and pets. Instead of using real candles as a part of your decorum, invest in LED candles that look just like the real ones. You can recycle these candles for decades, as good LED lighting can last up to 50,000 hours. If you use these candles only once a year, you might as well continue using them when you become a ghost in your haunted mansion.

6. Take Care Of Your Regular Outdoor Lighting

Fun aside, your guests and children will have to navigate your backyard late at night, so ensure that everyone is safe and all pathways are perfectly visible by investing in high-quality outdoor lighting beforehand. At Nassau National Cable, you can pick bright, high-quality outdoor lighting at great prices. Some of our favorites include Aeralux Donatello Bollard Fixture for elegant yet efficient outdoor lighting and Aeralux Astellano Outdoor Wall Pack Light for eliminating the exterior of your building. Other beautiful solutions for your backyard include outdoor post lights, outdoor sconce fixtures, and floodlights.

7. Stay Ahead of COVID-19

While many of us can't wait for life to get back to normal, the Covid-19 pandemic is still ravaging out there. Take safety precautions and ensure that you and your guests are fully vaccinated and tested before the party.

Wishing You The Spookiest Celebration,

Your NNC team.
