This electrical cable is among the extensive stock of cables used in automotive applications. This automotive wire is relatively tough and can withstand any type of demanding environment since its application areas tend to be harsh. The TWP auto wire is available in various sizes, mostly from 10 AWG to 24 AWG, depending on the weight of your application. This primary cable can also operate in a wide range of temperatures, ranging from -40°C up to 80°C, in both cold and hot temperatures. This electrical wire is used in applications not exceeding 50 Volts in motor vehicles.
Also Known As:
Automotive wire, automotive cable, primary cable, car wiring, auto wire, auto cable, automotive electrical wiring, car electrical wiring, vehicle wiring, auto electrical wire, automotive primary wire.
Standards:
This cable has the following certifications since it has been tested by international agencies in the field of auto motives:
- • SAE J-1128
- • Ford ESB-M1L123A
- • Chrysler MS-5919
Construction
Conductors:
The conductor is made of bare copper, concentrically stranded in rope lay. The stranding increases the cable’s flex life, which helps it to be easily installed in constricted areas. This stranding also enables the cable to carry more current with minimal resistance and without overheating the cable. The copper conductor is also durable and is easily recyclable in case it wears out. It’s also versatile, which means it can be put to other uses in addition to its intended purpose.
Insulation:
The insulation protects the conductor from damage and also protects the cable operators from the electric shock, which may be caused by direct contact with the live wire. The insulation of this cable is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is lead-free. The insulation is also color-coded to enable easy identification of the cable depending on the size.
