Description:
The SimplyTEST VDV II PRO Cable Tester expands upon the efficiency of the VDV II PLUS with TDR technology, media service detection, and PoE++ network information, providing up to 90W of testing power. A 6-pin RJ-11/RJ-12 port, an RJ45 port, and a Coax F-type port on the VDV II allow you to connect and verify copper cables typically found in domestic, commercial, or industrial applications. The VDV II PRO can subsequently measure the cable's length and determine the signal running through the cable-from ISDN and PBX telephone services to PoE.
Key Features:
- * Multimedia Support: RJ45, RJ11/RJ12 and coax ports for verification of low voltage copper cables.
- * TDR Length Testing and Troubleshooting: Pinpoints cable faults eliminating unnecessary guess work.
- * Tone Generator: Ability to identify and trace cables with a compatible inductive tone proble (optional)
- * PoE Generator: PoE service detection with voltage information.
- * Storage and Protection of Remote Unit: Reduces the chance of losing or damaging the remote unit. Additional numbered remotes available.
- * Cat 5/5e/6/6a/7/UTP/STP Testing: Support for all common LAN cables
- * Large Backlit Screen: Instantaneous, easy to read test results
- * Media Service Detection: Identifies analog (PBX) and digital (ISDN) telephone services.
- * Ethernet Detection: Displays network rate and duplex information.
- * Voltage Protection: Cable testing disabled if >2V detected.
- * Bluetooth through the AnyWARE app is included
Accuracy:
- * Utilizes TDR to accurately measure cable length and provide distance to fault information
- * Maximum cable length 980' for wiremap cables and 1960' overall
- Injects a signal into the cable and measures the time it takes for that signal to be reflected back
- * Analyzes changes in impedance caused by cable damage, open, and short circuits
- * Recorded time is then translated into accurate distance measurement
- * Helps pinpoint where cabling faults occur and speeds up fault finding
