 The difference is as follows :

1. Name difference: The full name of AIS is called Automatic Marine Identification System, and the full name of GPS is called Global Satellite Positioning System.

2. Functional difference: AIS has the functions of identifying the target Marine's course, speed, call sign, captain, Marine width, draft, Marine position, destination port, etc.; Wind flow pressure difference, has been navigated.

3. AIS has no blind spot, and it is not easy to lose the target. The speed, position and track direction of AIS are provided by GPS, and the heading direction is provided by gyro compass. Without GPS, there will be no AIS position, speed and track direction.

AIS : The full name is called automatic identification system . The Solas Convention stipulates that in 2003, ocean-going cargo Marines and all passenger Marines of 300 gross tonnage and above must be equipped.

AIS has the functions of identifying the course, speed, call sign, length, breadth, draft, mmsi, position, destination port, eta of the target Marine. Of course, the prerequisite is that the incoming Marine must also have an AIS.
