Product Information
Specification
Hook Up Lead Wire UL 1007/1569 MIL-W-16878
Applications:
The lead hook up wire is an electrical cable developed for use in motor engines and military motors, heavy industrial machines, and interconnecting transformers. The maximum temperature is 105°C for continuous use at 300V. If you are looking where to buy hook up wire as your electrical wire of choice, Nassau National Cable is among the leading lead wire suppliers with a wide hook up wire assortment.
Also Known As:
Hook up wire, lead wire cable, hook cable, lead cable, lead wire, stranded hookup wire, lead covered wire, electrode lead wires, electrical lead wire, high voltage lead wire, type ul.
Standards:

Construction
Conductors:
This lead wire conductor is a tinned solid or stranded copper conductor. The size of the conductor dictates the application and the type of installation the cable will use, as well as its totaling weight; the bigger the conductor the higher the electrical resistivity. Copper has good electrical properties, which improve the voltage distribution of the hook up wire, as it will not succumb to deformations.
The cable is also tinned for maximum performance. Tinning reduces friction build up as it makes the surface of the conductors smoother. This offers free strip from the insulation, reducing the termination time during installation.
Insulation:
Reinforced insulation is provided by a black PVC jacket, which improves the service life of this cable, as it provides protection to the cable from harsh environmental conditions, chemical and mechanical damages, or any other deformations. PVC also keeps the handler safe from electric shocks since it is a non-conductor. It has a smooth surface, which eliminates friction, and is flexible enough to fold.
