This is an effective type of communication cable but it is meant for light to medium weight applications. It can also be put in to other uses including transmission of current since it is a versatile cable.

Conductors

The cable has two bare stranded copper conductors. Conductors are the main core of the cable and are responsible for most of the cable functions. The stranding not only does it increase the efficiency of the cable but also its flexibility. This makes the cable very easy to work with in most applications. The conductors are oxygen free hence less prone to damage caused by air.

Insulation

This is a vital part in any cable. The insulation is made from Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). PVC does not conduct electricity or heat which makes it the best material for use as the insulation. It is also very robust and can withstand any punishing environment.

Jacket

It has an overall cable jacket that protects the inner components of the cable from damage. The cable jacket is also made from PVC material. The jacket has sequential footage markings to avoid wastage.

The cable also has a nylon rip cord to enable easy ripping of the cable for identification purposes.

It is mainly used for communication and signal control systems.
