The SM5200-04P is a network appliance that serves as the system management hub for the Pelco Endura system. It manages the discovery, registration, and secure authentication of all Endura components and cameras on the network. Acting as a secure key server, it facilitates public/private key exchanges, allowing Pelco cameras and encoders to sign compressed video, ensuring video authenticity for law enforcement or evidentiary purposes. The SM5200-04P continuously monitors the health and performance of all network devices, while logging user activities such as logins, alarm responses, and video exports. As a management server, it hosts user rights and permissions, verifying credentials through its internal database before granting access to Endura clients. User configurations stored within the system enable customized functionality and language preferences, improving operator efficiency and reducing training requirements. Additionally, the SM5200-04P can integrate with an LDAP server, such as Microsoft Active Directory, for streamlined user authentication. The unit also hosts the Endura Script Manager, allowing for scripted responses to alarm conditions, scheduled events, or manual triggers. It includes an NTP server, serving as a proxy between atomic or GPS-based time sources and the Endura network components. If no external NTP server is available, it can function as the primary time source, though subject to potential time drift. The integrated DHCP server issues and manages DHCP addresses for all Endura components and cameras. Designed for mission-critical surveillance applications, the SM5200-04P ensures system reliability with two solid-state drives (SSD) in a RAID 1 configuration for operating system redundancy, redundant fans, and optional RAID 5 storage for exported video content. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports allow network separation, with Port 1 dedicated to Endura traffic and Port 2 supporting remote access and IPv6. These features help administrators manage network traffic efficiently while ensuring continuous system uptime and data integrity.
