This Belden Multi Conductor Foil Shield Tinned Copper FEP Low Voltage Electronic cable is an electrical wire designed for low voltage uses. The target applications of this cable are direct burial, analog signals, low-voltage control, line-level audio and voice communications.

Construction

Conductors:

Belden wire may have different numbers of conductors that are drawn and annealed by the company and made of either solid or stranded copper.

Insulation:

Insulation is very important in any electrical cable since it prevents the electrocution of cable handlers. Belden cable’s insulation is made by the company, therefore offering a wide range of options, including Polyethylene, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), and Polypropylene insulation.  Datalene and Teflon® Insulated Plenum insulation are also available.

Jacket:

The range of Belden wire jackets is quite wide and includes the following materials: Polyvinyl Chloride, Polyethylene, Polyurethane, Teflon®, Tefzel®, Neoprene, EPDM, Silicone rubber, and Natural rubber.

Shield:

Belden wire shields utilize techniques and innovations developed by the company and include the following variety: Foil shields (Beldfoil®, Duofoil®), Braid shields, Spiral/Serve shields, and Combination shields.

Armor:

Belden wire armor protects the cable and is made of aluminum or interlocking steel.
