Belden 8770 Applications:

Belden 8770 is a multi-conductor shielded twisted pair cable. It is commonly used for audio, control, and instrumentation applications. Its shielded twisted pairs are useful for reducing noise and crosstalk in signal transmissions. The cable's design with twisted pairs and overall shielding ensures that signals are transmitted with minimal distortion and interference. Common uses include low voltage analog signals, low voltage control, line level audio,  voice communications, and panel wiring. Belden 8770 prevents noise interference, provides better constant signal transmission, and is flexible for simple installation. 

The 8770 Belden cable is ranked 300 volts and has an operating temperature of -20°C to +60°C.

Belden 8770 Construction:

Conductors:

Belden 8770 features three twisted pairs of conductors, typically made of tinned copper. Each conductor is usually 18 AWG (American Wire Gauge).  The stranding is 16x30.

Insulation:

Each conductor typically has polyethylene insulation, providing good dielectric properties and resistance to moisture.

Jacket:

The outer jacket is typically made of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), which provides protection against environmental factors and mechanical damage.

Shield:

The cable comes with an overall aluminum/polyester foil shield, which is great for reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI). An accompanying tinned copper drain wire is often found with the shield, which can be used to ground the shield.
