2/3 TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power Mining Industrial Cable 8000v

Allowable Ampacity For 2/3 TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power Mining Industrial Cable 8000v: 159 Amps

Applications:

TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power Cable is designed for heavy-duty trailing cables on mining equipment where maximum safety is required. It is suitable for high voltage distribution in underground mines where portable power is necessary. The electrical cable is suitable for installation in ducts, troughs, and trays. SHD-GC electrical cables are used for off-track equipment and power feeders of underground mines since they have dielectric strength, excellent resistivity, low flammability, good elongation capability, low flexural modulus, and excellent resistance to water absorption, oils, and fuels.

Also Known As:

2/3 Type SHD-GC TPU Cable, 2/3 Thermoplastic Polyurethane SHD-GC Portable Power Cable, 2/3 TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power Cable, 2/3 Type SHD-GC Portable Power Shovel Cable, 2/3 SHD-GC TPU EPDM

Standards:

  • MSHA listed
  • Passes MSHA flame test (P-136-MSHA)
  • Meets ICEA requirements
  • OSHA acceptable
  • Excellent resistance to oil, solvents, ozone, aging, and abrasion
  • Moderate flexibility
  • Passes MSHA flame test (P-136-MSHA)
  • Suitable for continuous submersion in shallow water

Construction:

Conductor:

Flexible, rope stranded, uncoated annealed copper conductors per ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.11 and ASTM B-3/B 173.

Tape:

A semi-conducting tape is applied over the conductor with a 10% minimum overlap. The tape shall meet the requirements of ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.14. The separator is a ten mil nominal thickness semi-conducting tape colored black, white, and red is helically applied over the insulation with a 50% nominal overlap. The tape shall meet the requirements of ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.17.

Insulation:

EPDM Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer insulation is flexible, durable, and resistant to moisture.

Shield:

The shield is a tinned coated copper braid with an 85% minimum coverage and is applied over the taped and insulated conductor. It shall meet the requirements of ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.19.1.1.

Ground Check Conductor:

The ground check conductor is a flexible rope-lay stranded, tin-coated annealed copper conductor insulated with 45 mils of a yellow insulating XLP compound.

Jacket:

The jacket is black, yellow, or orange as a standard offering of heavy-duty thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).

Applications:

TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power Cable is designed for use as heavy-duty trailing cable on mining equipment where maximum safety is required. Also suitable for high voltage distribution in underground mines where portable power is necessary.

Construction:

TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power Cable conductors are flexible, rope stranded, uncoated annealed copper conforming to ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.11 and ASTM B-3/B 173. A semi-conducting tape is applied over the conductor with a 10% minimum overlap. The tape shall meet the requirements of ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.14. The separator is a 10 mil nominal thickness semi-conducting tape colored black, white and red is helically applied over the insulation with a 50% nominal overlap. The tape shall meet the requirements of ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.17. The shield is tinned coated copper braid with an 85% minimum coverage and is applied over the taped and insulated conductor. It shall meet the requirements of ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.19.1.1. The ground check conductor is a flexible rope-lay stranded, tin coated annealed copper conductor insulated with 45 mils of a yellow insulating XLP compound. Three insulated power conductors are assembledround in a helical configuration with two grounding conductors, one ground check conductor, rubber fillers, as necessary, and with a suitable lay. The ground check conductor shall be placed in the valley between the black and white phase conductors. A rubber faced fabric tape is helically applied over the assembly with a 15% nominal overlap. A high strength reinforcement shall be applied as two reversed serves or as an open braid. Jacket is black, yellow, or orange as standard offering of heavy duty thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Alternate jacket colors are available for manufacture. Consult factory for details. Also available is in 25 kV construction.
