10 AWG (19/23) BC GXL
Applications:
Automotive wire is among the wide range of electrical cables used as power cables in the automotive industry, such as in vehicle engines. This GXL automotive wire is relatively robust and can withstand high heat and high impact environments. The operational temperature for this electrical cable is between -40°C and 125°C.
Also Known As:
10 sae j1128 gxl, 10 awg gxl wire, 10 gxl cable, 10 awg gxl automotive wire, 10 automotive wire, 10 awg automotive cable, 10 primary cable, 10 awg car wiring, 10 auto wire, 10 awg auto cable, 10 automotive electrical wiring, 10 awg car electrical wiring, 10 vehicle wiring, 10 awg auto electrical wire, 10 automotive primary wire.
Standards:
The GXL automotive wire has the following certifications from international agencies:
- • SAE J1128
- • Ford (ESB-M1L85-B)
- • Chrysler (MS-8900)
Construction
Conductors:
The GXL wire has a stranded bare or tinned copper wire conductor. Copper is the most common material used in electrical wires and cables, which is mostly because it has amazing electrical properties and is cheaper compared to other metals. The stranding enhances its flexibility and enables it to carry more current.
Insulation:
The GXL cable has XLPE insulation, which is flexible but very tough, made of a complex chain of molecules forming a sturdy polymer. It can withstand a wide range of temperatures, is resistant to chemicals and UV light deformations, water-tight, and easy to cut.
Specifications:
- • Conductor (AWG): 10
- • Stranding: 19x23
- • Nominal Conductor O.D. (inches): 0.108
- • Nominal Outer Diameter (inches): 0.173
