Applications:

Branch circuits are designed for use in patient care areas of hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient facilities, dental offices, clinics, and medical centers (excluding emergency, life safety, or critical care locations). They are also suitable for places of assembly as defined in NEC Article 518. These circuits can be installed under raised floors, above suspended ceilings, in environmental air-handling spaces, or in exposed or concealed dry locations. The wiring can be surface-mounted, fished, and applied in any situation requiring isolated or redundant grounding, as well as for normal or general-purpose power in healthcare settings, including patient care areas as specified in NEC Article 517.
