Product Information

Specification

Also Known As:
It is a type of network cabling that is used in buildings where air circulation for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC) is provided through the space above the ceiling or below the floor that is used for air return flow.

About:
F/UTP Patch cables are commonly used in commercial buildings, especially in areas where the building code requires their use due to their enhanced safety characteristics. They typically cost more than non-plenum-rated cables due to the materials used in their construction.

Specification:

Category/Level CATEGORY 6
Conductor/Pair Count 4 PAIR
Gauge 23 AWG (AMERICAN WIRE GAUGE)
Jacket Color GREY
Shielded F/UTP
Fire Rating PLENUM

Construction:
23 AWG bare copper wire insulated with thermoplastic. The key feature of a shielded cable is its shielding layer. This layer is typically made of a metallic foil or a braid, and it envelops the insulated conductors. The shielding serves to block external sources of electromagnetic interference, thereby preserving the integrity of the signals transmitted through the conductors. Two insulated conductors twisted together to form a pair and four such pairs cabled to form the basic unit, jacketed with flame-retardant PVC.
