6 AWG Blue Nylon Butt Splice
Also Known As:
Nylon Butt Splice, Tin Plated, Nylon Insulation, Brazed Type Closed, Seamless Butt Splice
About:
Nylon Butt splices are a simple way to create long-term electrical connections. The nylon insulation adds a layer of protection that you don't get with non-insulated butt splices. The nylon extends past the metal which serves to hold the wire more stable. This helps to reduce strain and stress on the wire and the connection. How do you use nylon butt splices Well, the first thing to do is make sure your wires are cut and stripped to the proper length. If you look inside the butt splice itself, you will see that there is an indentation. Insert the wire into the butt splice. Make sure it butts up to the indentation. Now, simply crimp the splice using the proper tool. This ensures the correct amount of pressure which guarantees a solid connection. Simply repeat the process on the other side. Now you're done. We would strongly recommend performing a tug test on the new splice. Simply grab both wires coming out of the butt splice and gently tug on them two or three times.
