Applications:

1-1-1-3 Copper SER cable is a service entrance cable designed for residential and commercial electrical distribution. It is most commonly used to connect the service drop to the meter base and from the meter base to the distribution panelboard.

This cable has a 600V voltage rating and is designed for dry locations, with an operating temperature of up to 90°C.

This 1-1-1-3 size, with an ampacity of 150 Amps, is commonly used for:

• Main service panel feeds in residential homes and light commercial buildings.
• Subpanel feeds in houses, apartments, and multi-unit dwellings.

Construction:

Conductor:

The "1-1-1-3" designation means this SER cable contains four conductors:

• Two phase conductors (hot wires) sized 1 AWG for carrying current.
• One neutral conductor sized 1 AWG for returning current.
• One ground conductor sized 3 AWG for safety.
• The conductors are cabled together with a bare copper ground conductor.
• A reinforced binder tape holds the assembly together.

All conductors are made of annealed soft copper, providing high electrical conductivity, flexibility, and durability.

Insulation:

Each insulated conductor is coated with XHHW-2 cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, which provides:

• High heat resistance (rated up to 90°C).
• Moisture resistance for dry locations.
• Durability against mechanical stress and chemical exposure.

Jacket:

SE cable is jacketed with gray sunlight-resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC). This dielectrically strong insulation is resistant to corrosion, abrasion, chemicals, and mechanical impact.
