A Schedule 40 PVC Pipe Slip x Slip Union is a removable plumbing fitting designed to connect two sections of Schedule 40 PVC pipe while allowing the piping system to be easily disconnected for maintenance, repairs, or future modifications. Unlike a standard coupling, a union can be unscrewed without cutting or rotating the connected pipes, making it ideal for systems that require periodic servicing. Both slip ends are solvent-welded (glued) to smooth PVC pipe, while the center union nut compresses an internal O-ring or gasket to create a reliable, leak-resistant seal.

• Slip Unions are used when a piping system needs to be disconnected for maintenance, repairs, or future modifications. Unlike standard couplings, unions can be easily disassembled without cutting or rotating the connected pipes.

• A slip union consists of two halves that are solvent-welded (glued) onto smooth PVC pipe ends. The two sections are then joined by tightening the union nut, which compresses an internal washer or O-ring to create a secure, watertight seal.

• Slip x Slip Unions are designed to connect two smooth-ended PVC pipes while providing a removable connection for convenient servicing.

• All of our Schedule 40 PVC fittings are NSF 14 and NSF 61 certified, making them suitable for potable (drinking) water applications. They are rated for a maximum operating temperature of 140°F (60°C).
