Description
2 AWG THHN/THWN-2 stranded copper wire is rated for THHN (thermoplastic high heat-resistant nylon, dry) and THWN-2 (wet) applications. The "W" indicates water resistance, making it suitable for damp environments when installed in conduit. It supports up to 600 volts and operates at temperatures up to 90°C. The flame-retardant PVC jacket resists sunlight, moisture, and chemicals, ensuring durability in harsh conditions. Commonly used for high-current circuits, branch wiring, and conduit systems, this wire is available in lengths of 25 ft, 50 ft, 100 ft, 250 ft, and 500 ft, as well as by the foot for custom orders.
Applications for 2 AWG THHN Wire
2 AWG THHN wire is ideal for circuits requiring up to 115 amps in:
-
Residential Wiring: Subpanels, large appliances, and heavy-duty circuits up to 115 amps.
-
Commercial Wiring: Powering high-current equipment, offices, and retail spaces.
-
Industrial Applications: Supplying power to motors, heavy machinery, and other demanding equipment.
-
Lighting Systems: Supporting large-scale lighting fixtures in industrial and commercial setups.
-
Conduit Installations: Designed for wet or dry locations when installed in conduits.
-
Branch Circuits: Distributing power from circuit breakers to heavy-duty devices or appliances.
