Shipboard Cable LS2SJ-11 11 AWG 2 Conductor MIL-C 24643 Tinned Copper
Applications:
Type LSSJ electrical cables are designed for non-flexible, non-watertight marine applications when completing essential tasks. They are particularly used in power systems, combat systems, internal connections, and lighting circuits. The cables are used when 400 Hz shielding is a requirement. The electrical cables are also equipped with a thermoset system to ease the application. They meet the requirements of surface transfer impedance and EMP response.
Also Known As:
LS2SJA Wire, Armored Cable, Shipboard Cable, Mil-DTL-24643 Cable, Non-Flexing Cable, Low Smoke Cable, Military Cable.
Standards:
- • ANSI/NCSL Z540-1
- • MIL-I-45208A
- • MIL-STD-790
- • NHB 5300.4 (1C)
- • ISO 9001:2000
- • IAW M24643/17
- • ASTM B286 for tinned-copper conductors
- • ASTM B8 stranding
Construction:
Conductor:
A tinned-coated stranded copper conductor for sizes 14 and smaller, or a bare copper conductor for sizes 12 and larger. The stranding is Class B.
Insulation:
XLPE cross-linked polyethylene insulation is resistant to moisture, flame, heat, and mechanical impact. The insulation is color-coded according to Method 3.
Jacket:
A cross-linked polyolefin low-smoke zero-halogen jacket with a surface marking. It has excellent fire and UV resistance. The jacket has excellent ecological properties and is generally non-toxic in the event of a fire. The jacket is color-coded in either black or white.
Armor:
The cable can be optionally armored with aluminum braided armor.
