Product Information
Specification
About:
• The Instrumentation Bare Copper Shield PE TC Drain Armoured 300/500V LSF Control Cable is designed for reliable signal transmission and control in industrial environments. It features bare copper conductors with polyethylene (PE) insulation, a tinned copper (TC) drain wire, and overall shielding. The cable is armored for mechanical protection and has a low smoke and fume (LSF) outer jacket, making it suitable for applications where fire safety is critical. This cable is rated for 300/500 volts, ideal for medium voltage control and instrumentation tasks.
Also Known As:
• Armoured Instrumentation Cable
• Shielded Control Cable
• LSF Instrumentation and Control Cable
• 300/500V Armoured Control Cable
Application:
• These cables are designed to connect electrical instrument circuits and provide communication services in and around process plants (e.g. petrochemical industry etc.). Especially for use in areas where fire would create dense smoke and toxic fumes causing a major threat to life and equipment. Suitable for direct buried applications
Standard:
• Complies with IEC and other international electrical and fire safety standards
• Meets industry standards for instrumentation and control cables
• Low smoke and fume (LSF) standards for enhanced safety in case of fire
Construction:
• Generally in accordance with BS 5308 Part 1.
• Conductors: Stranded (Class 2) or flexible (Class 5) copper conductors to BS EN 60228.
• Insulation: Polythene insulation Type 03 to BS6234.
• Pair Identification: See colour code chart 1 page 4:22.
• 100mm maximum pair lay length (minimum 10 twists per metre).
• Binder Tape: p.e.t.p. tape 50% overlap.
• Collective Screen: tinned copper drain wire(s) underand in contact with aluminium/p.e.t.p. laminated tape applied metallic side down
• LSF inner sheath to BS6724.
• Mild galvanised steel wires to BS EN10257-1.
• Outer Sheath: Black LSF outer sheath to BS6724.
• Flame retardant to BS EN 60332-3-24 & IEC60332-3-24Category C (NMV1.5).
• Voltage Rating: 300/500V.
• Temperature Rating: 65°C maximum conductoroperating temperature
Features:
• High Signal Integrity: Effective shielding with aluminum/polyester tape and TC drain wire to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI)
• Durability: PE insulation provides robust protection against mechanical stress and environmental factors
• Mechanical Protection: Steel wire armor offers additional protection against physical damage, ensuring long-term durability
• Enhanced Safety: LSF jacket reduces the emission of harmful fumes in the event of a fire, enhancing safety in enclosed environments
• Flexibility: Stranded conductors allow for easy installation and routing in confined spaces
• Versatile: Suitable for a wide range of instrumentation and control applications, especially in harsh industrial environments
