About:

This cable is intended for offshore and marine applications where a lower voltage rating (0.6/1 kV) and halogen-free materials are essential. It is designed for environments where shielding against electromagnetic interference is not required.

Also Known As:

This cable may be referred to as marine unshielded power cable, offshore unshielded control cable, or fire-resistant unshielded marine cable.

Application:

• Offshore drilling rigs: For power and control systems where shielding is not necessary.
• Marine vessels: Used in areas that do not require EMI protection but do require robust, fire-resistant wiring.
• Shipboard non-critical systems: Suitable for general power applications within shipboard environments that are less sensitive to electromagnetic interference.
• Building services in marine environments: Ideal for fixed installations in buildings on marine platforms, such as lighting and power supplies in non-EMI sensitive areas.

Standards:

• GAALSHIP UX: Specifies that the cable must be unshielded, flame retardant, low smoke, and halogen-free.
• IEC 60092-350: Standard for electrical installations in ships, ensuring the cable is suitable for fixed installations with specific conditions regarding fire resistance.
• IEC 60332-1-2: Tests for vertical flame propagation for a single insulated wire or cable, demonstrating the cable's fire-retardant properties.

Construction:

• Conductor: Stranded tinned copper conductor Cl. 2, acc. to IEC 60228
• Insulation: Halogen-free thermosetting type SHF2, acc. to IEC 60092-359. Thickness acc. to IEC 60092-353 unsheathed, unarmoured
• Colour Cores: black (RAL 9005) acc.to NEK 606 and HD 308 S2 or green-yellow for use as protective earth wire, (with seventh and eighth digit of the part number with “15”)*
