Product Information

Specification

750 MCM 4C Stranded Metal Clad MC Copper Conductor W/G 600V Aluminum Armored Cable

Allowable Ampacity for 750 MCM 4C Stranded Metal Clad Copper Conductor 600V Aluminum Armored Cable at 75°C: 475 Amps

Allowable Ampacity for 750 MCM 4C Stranded Metal Clad Copper Conductor 600V Aluminum Armored Cable at 90°C: 535 Amps

Applications:

The metal clad cable is an electrical wire designed for use in power lines not exceeding 600 Volts. The MC wire has an operational temperature rating of up to 90°C in dry locations. The cable is armored with an aluminum interlocking strip, which offers great mechanical protection. The MC aluminum armored wire also has a green insulated grounding conductor. This electrical cable is lightweight and therefore, not labor-intensive, which makes it a cost-effective option over other piped wire installations.

Also Known As:

750 4c metal clad cable, 750 4c aluminum armored cable, 750 4c mc cable, 750 4c mc wire, 750 4c mc cable wiring, 750 4c armored wire, 750 4c armoured electrical cable, 750 4c mc electrical wire, 750 4c fire alarm mc cable, 750 4c flexible armored cable, 750 4c armored cable wiring, 750 4c metal clad cable type mc, 750 4c armored fire alarm cable.

Standards:

  • UL 83
  • UL 1569
  • UL 1685
  • Federal Specification A-A59544 (formerly J-C-30B)
  • Jacketed & Non Jacketed will both pass " UL Test" & "FT4/IEEE 1202" (70,000 Btu/hr) Vertical Cable Tray Flame Test National Electrical Code
  • Listed for use in UL 1, 2, and 3 Hour Through-Penetration Fire Stop Systems

Construction

Conductors:

This aluminum armored cable has a stranded or solid copper conductor. Copper is the most common material used in electrical wires and cables, which is mostly because it has amazing electrical properties and is cheaper compared to other metals. The stranding enhances its flexibility and enables it to carry more current.

Conductor Insulation:

Conductor insulation for this metal clad cable wiring is THHN/THWN: THHN stands for thermoplastic high heat-resistant nylon, which is known for versatility and durability. The double marking THHN/THWN indicates that the electrical wire is suitable for wet and dry conditions equally. Additionally, this makes the cable resistant to corrosion, excessive dryness, and the impact of chemicals.

Armor:

The interlocking aluminum strip serves as armor applied over the cabled together conductors, with the polypropylene tape wrapped around the assembly. The armor makes the MC cable highly resistant from crush and rodent as well as ensures installation with no extra inner duct or conduit.
