Applications:

• Corrosion Hardy, or "Stainless Steel," rigging and ropes should be washed with fresh water on a regular basis. Using a water-soluble cleanser will not harm the metal and can make general deck cleaning a lot easier. Parts should be inspected after each use.
• Cables must be checked for wire breaks, misaligned swage fittings, and corrosion.
• Swaged fixtures should be checked for cracks.
• Other "stainless" parts can be inspected at the same time.
• Stainless steel" can stain and corrode.
• It is an alloy, but it does still contain carbon.
• If an extensive discoloration is present, or something called "pitting," the parts must be replaced.
• If a part requires scraping or grinding to remove corrosion, it most likely must be removed from service and replaced with new parts.
• Regular cleaning and inspections will assure the best possible life service for these parts.
