Specification

Contractor shall supply and install heavy-duty ceiling-mounted forced air electric heater(s) as specified in the plans, with the required wattage, voltage, and phase. The heater shall ensure even air distribution by drawing return air from the periphery, passing it across the heating element, and discharging it centrally via an axial flow fan.

The recessed heater shall be mounted flush with the finished ceiling. The return grille assembly shall be one-piece heavy-gauge steel with 1/4" slots and concentric rings for uniform air discharge, secured by tamper-resistant machine screws. The enclosure shall be made of zinc-coated steel with a neutral off-white powder coat finish.

The motor shall be permanently lubricated, totally enclosed, and operate at no more than 1300 RPM, matching the heater's voltage. The heater shall achieve 600 CFM at 1,000 F.P.M. with a maximum temperature rise of 44°F.

Element assemblies shall consist of corrosion-resistant steel-sheathed elements with helically coiled Nickel-Chromium alloy wire, embedded in magnesium oxide. Elements shall have a density of no more than 60 Watts per inch and include cold conductor pins for mechanical bonding.

Heaters shall feature a manual-reset thermal overload to disconnect the elements and motor if the temperature exceeds normal limits. Automatic-reset overloads are not accepted. The heater shall be ETL listed.
