Usually made from steel or aluminum, EMT is a lightweight conduit that offers some flexibility. Made from galvanized steel or aluminum, offering robust protection.  EMT typically has a thinner wall compared to Rigid conduit. Thicker walls offer more protection but reduce the inner diameter.  Provides significant mechanical protection and is often used where electrical cables pass through areas exposed to impact or environmental hazards. Provides physical protection to enclosed conductors and cables but is not rated for significant mechanical protection. It's often used for exposed indoor wiring, like in commercial buildings, for its ease of installation and bending. Ideal for outdoor applications, especially where high protection is needed, such as in industrial environments.
