Specification

2000 COWSLIP ALL ALUMINUM CONDUCTOR AAC

Allowable Ampacity for 2000 COWSLIP ALL ALUMINUM CONDUCTOR AAC: 1518 Amps

Applications:

AAC, or All Aluminum Conductor, is an electrical cable mainly used for distribution services as well as overhead transmission in outdoor premises due to the high-quality water-resistant aluminum conductor. The AAC cable can be of two classes: class AA cables are with bare conductors to be used in overhead lines, and class A is for an electrical wire with both bare conductors for increased flexibility and conductors with a weather-resistant cover.

Also Known As:

2000 cowslip all aluminum conductor, 2000 cowslip all aluminum conductor table, 2000 cowslip aac all aluminum conductor, 2000 cowslip aac cable, 2000 cowslip aluminum alloy cable, 2000 cowslip abrasive resistant cable, 2000 cowslip transmission overhead, 2000 cowslip overhead power line components.

Standards:

  • 1350-H19 for Electrical Purposes

  • Concentric-Lay-Stranded Aluminum 1350 conductors

  • Requirements of the National Electrical Code

  • ASTM B-230 & B-23

Construction

Conductors:

AAC cable has a concentric lay stranded conductor consisting of Aluminum Alloy 1350-H19 wires and is available in both single-layer and multi-layer constructions.

Note: AAC ampacity is based on 75ºC conductor temperature, 25 ºC ambient, 2ft1s wind, 961 watts/sq. foot sun, 0.5 coefficients of emissivity and absorption.

Specifications:

  • Conductor Size: 2000

  • Stranding: 91

  • Class: A

  • Diameter Inches: Indiv. Wire: 0.1482

  • Diameter Inches: O.D: 1.630

  • Cross Sectional Area (sq. inches): 1.5710

  • Approx. Weight lb/1000FT: 1877.0

  • Approx. Rated Strength (lbs.): 34,200

  • Ampacity: 1518 Amps

Application:

AAAC – All Aluminum Alloy Conductor is used for primarily and secondary overhead transmission and distributionservices. AAAC conductor is designed utilizing a high-strength aluminum alloy to achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio and better sag characteristic. AAAC conductor has a higher resistance to corrosion than ACSR.

Conductors:

AAAC conductor is a concentric lay stranded conductor consisting of Aluminum Alloy 6201-T81 wires, similar in appearance to a 1350 grade aluminum conductor.

Notes:

DC resistance at 20°C of the 6201-T81 alloy has a greater resistance to abrasion than conductors of 1350-H19 grade aluminum.

Standards:

  • ASTM B-398 & B-399
  • Requirements of the National Electrical Code
