20 AWG 24P Stranded Bare Copper Shielded Al Tape PE PVC RD-Y(st)Y 300V Instrumentation Cable
Allowable Ampacity for 20 AWG 24P Stranded Bare Copper Shielded Al Tape PE PVC RD-Y(st)Y 300V Instrumentation Cable:100 Amps
About:
RD-Y(st)Y instrumentation cable is a type of cable commonly used in industrial applications for transmitting signals and data. It consists of stranded bare copper conductors, shielded with aluminum tape, and insulated with polyethylene (PE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Its voltage rating is typically 300 volts.
Also Known As:
• RD-Y(st)Y cable
• Instrumentation cable
• Shielded cable
• Aluminum tape shielded cable
• PE PVC cable
Applications:
Connecting cable used in hand-held electric tools, for flexible and fixed installation. Suitable in dry, humid or wet rooms. Outdoor use within temperature range, no laying underground.
Standards:
• International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
• Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
Construction:
• Conductor: stranded red copper conductor Cl. 2, acc. to IEC 60228, DIN VDE 0295
• Insulation: PVC compound
• Colour cores: PAIR 1: blue, red
PAIR 2: grey, yellow
PAIR 3: green, brown
PAIR 4: white, black
• Stranding: conductors twisted in pairs, 4 pairs stranded to a unit, unit stranded in concentric layers
• Screen: electrostatic screen of plastic and aluminium tape + tinned drain-wire
• Outer sheath: grey (RAL 7000) or blue (RAL5015), PVC compound
Features:
• Suitable for-Maxi-Term-point-connection
• the pairs are twisted with short pitches and different lay-lenghts wich lead to good cross talk attenuation values in a unit
• the static screen protects the transmission circuits against outer electrical
• the material used in manifacture are cadmium-free and contain no silicone and free from substances harmful to the wetting properties of lacquers
• Conductor resistance: max. 73,6 Ohm/km
• Insulation resistance: core/core min. 100 MOhm x km core/screen min. 100 MOhm x km
• Mutual capacitance: at 800 Hz max.100 nF/km (this value may be exceeded by 20% with a make-up to 4 pairs)
• Cross-talk attenuation: at 10 kHz and cable lenght of 500 m min. 60 dB
Specifications:
• AWG No: 20
• No. of pairs x cross section n x mm2: 24x2x0,5
• Outer-Ø ca.mm ± 10%: 17,5
• Nominal voltage: 300 V
• Test voltage: 2 kV
• Temperature range:Fixed laying: - 30 OC up to +70 OC
Flexible application: - 5 OC up to +50 OC
