The Digital Sentry Network Video Recorder (DSSRV2-040-D) by Pelco is specifically designed to provide seamless hardware support for the DS NVs Video Management Software (VMS), eliminating the added cost and complexities of integrating separate hardware and software. Powered by a 4th Generation Intel Xeon processor and 8 GB of RAM, this NVR ensures robust performance and reliability, tailored for the demands of high-definition video recording and playback. The DSSRV2 supports up to 128 combined IP and analog video streams, accommodating up to 64 analog cameras via the optional ENC5516 direct-attached encoder. Analog streams can also be managed using Pelco or third-party encoders. With a throughput capacity of up to 350 Mbps (or 300 Mbps for JBOD models), the NVR efficiently handles recording, playback, and export tasks. The system can be used as a stand-alone unit or as part of a larger server network, all managed through the DS Control Point user interface. For connectivity and network planning, the device includes two gigabit network ports, allowing one port to be allocated for IP camera connections while the second handles client connections. Additionally, two DisplayPort outputs provide compatibility with high-resolution digital monitors, ideal for HD camera setups. When deploying the system, factors such as the maximum number of cameras, desired frame rates, concurrent client connections, and bandwidth requirements must be considered to ensure optimal performance.
