128-25-3235 750 MCM 1C Aluminum Shield Okoguard HV EPR Okoseal PVC 800mils 115KV Power Cable
Allowable Ampacity for 128-25-3235 750 MCM 1C Aluminum Shield Okoguard HV EPR Okoseal PVC 800mils 115KV Power Cable:100 Amps
About:
This model features a single-core conductor made from 750 MCM Aluminum Shield , which is notable for its excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical strength. It is insulated with Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR), providing superior dielectric strength and heat resistance. The insulation thickness of 800 mils significantly enhances its ability to handle voltages up to 115KV. The cable includes a bare copper shield that helps in minimizing electromagnetic interference and improving fault current capacity, enhancing overall system safety. The outer jacket is made from Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), known as Okoseal, which provides protection against environmental hazards like chemical exposure and physical abrasion.
Also Known As:
• 750 MCM Single Conductor 115KV Cable
• High Voltage EPR Insulated Copper Cable
• Bare Copper Shielded 115KV PVC Jacket Cable
Application:
• Okoguard HV cables are designed for use in primary circuits in both electrical utilities and industrial installations where they provide maximum circuit security and economical installation. Rated for continuous operation with a 105°C conductor temperature,
• Okoguard HV cables may be installed in wet or dry locations, indoors or outdoors
(exposed to sunlight) in underground ducts, tunnels, directional bores, road bores or direct burial.
Standards:
• IEEE 48 and IEEE 404: Standards that specify the testing and installation procedures for cable terminations and joints in shielded power cables.
• ICEA S-93-639/NEMA WC 74: Specifies the performance requirements for 5-46KV shielded power cables, which also generally apply in principles to higher voltage levels.
• UL 1072: For medium and high voltage power cables, ensuring the cable's performance under specified electrical stresses.
Construction:
• Conductor: Uncoated copper sizes 750 through 1000 kcmil are compact round
strand per ASTM B496. Uncoated copper sizes larger than 1000 kcmil are compressed round Class B strand per ASTM B3 and ASTM B8. Aluminum sizes are compressed round Class B strand per ASTM B231 and ASTM B609.
• Strand Screen: Thermoset, semiconducting EPR strand screen meets or exceeds the
physical and electrical requirements of AEIC CS9 and ICEA S-108-720.
• Insulation: Wet or dry rated thermoset, low loss EPR insulation meets or exceeds the requirements of AEIC CS9 and ICEA S-108-720.
• Insulation Screen: Thermoset bonded semiconducting EPR insulation screen
meets or exceeds the physical and electrical requirements of AEIC CS9 and ICEA S-108-720.
• Shield: 5 mil thick uncoated copper tape, helically applied with 25% nominal
overlap. Optional shields include concentric wires, a combination of copper tape and concentric wires or a longitudinal corrugated copper tape. Aluminum CLX armor covering is also available.
• Jacket: Okoseal PVC meets or exceeds the physical and electrical requirements of ICEA S-108-720 for polyvinyl chloride jackets. Optional jackets include an insulating red OKOLENE jacket with a black semiconducting jacket when field jacket integrity testing is required.
Features:
• Triple tandem extruded, all EPR system.
• Okoguard cables meet or exceed recognized industry standards (AEIC and ICEA).
• 105 C continuous operating ° temperature.
• 140 C emergency rating. °
