12 AWG 7C Stranded Bare Copper Unshielded XLPE CPE 600V Substation Control Cable
Allowable Ampacity for 12 AWG 7C Stranded Bare Copper Unshielded XLPE CPE 600V Substation Control Cable: 100 Amps
About:
• This control cable is engineered for use in substation environments and other industrial settings. It combines stranded bare copper conductors with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation and a chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) jacket. It is unshielded and rated for 600V, offering robust performance in both wet and dry conditions.
Also Known As:
• 600V Substation Control Cable
• XLPE CPE Control Cable
• Substation Control Cable
Application:
• For utility and industrial circuits where a highly moisture-resistant cable is required. Suitable for AC or DC use in wet or dry locations and can be used as aerial cables, installed in conduit or trays or can be directly buried. Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated conductors have excellent physical and electrical properties with a high degree of flame-retardancy. The bond that is formed between the copolymer-coated shield and the CPE jacket offers superior oil, chemical and moisture resistance. These cables are manufactured to meet the requirements of the ICEA 70,000 and 210,000 BTU/hr vertical tray flame tests as detailed in ICEA T-29-520 and T-30-520.
Standard:
• UL 1277 for Type TC (Tray Cable)
• UL 83 for Thermoplastic-Insulated Wires and Cables
• IEEE 1202/FT4 for Flame Test
• ICEA S-73-532/NEMA WC57 for Control, Thermocouple Extension, and Instrumentation Cables
• ASTM B3 and B8 for Bare Copper Conductors
• NEC (National Electrical Code) Articles 310 and 725
Construction:
• Conductor: Stranded bare copper
• Insulation: Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE)
• Jacket: Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE)
• Temperature Rating: 90°C in wet or dry locations
Features:
• Durability: High resistance to environmental factors such as moisture, chemicals, and UV radiation, ensuring long-term performance in harsh conditions.
• Flexibility: Easy to install and route in control panels and other confined spaces.
• Safety: Excellent electrical and thermal properties to ensure safe operation under load conditions.
• Performance: Reliable performance in substation control applications with minimal signal interference due to the use of high-quality copper and XLPE insulation.
• Compliance: Meets multiple industry standards ensuring safety, reliability, and compatibility with other electrical components.
